The Miracle Seed

The intelligence contained in flax is so spectacular that it coordinates a sensational offense against breast cancer. Omega-3 fatty acids help to lower the risk of breast cancer by quieting inflammation and by decreasing the rate at which breast cells divide in response to estrogen.  Inflammation is a key factor in the initiation and progression of a variety of diseases including heart disease, rheumatoid arthritis, skin diseases, and cancers such as breast cancer.  If you have breast cancer, omega-3s have been found to help shrink breast tumors and prevent them from spreading to other parts of the body.

The second exceptional quality of flax has to do with something called “lignans.”  Lignans are natural plant compounds that help to give stiffness to the structure of plats.  They also possess extraordinary  anticancer properties with an astonishing ability to help protect against and fight breast cancer.  Flaxseeds contain at least 100 times more lignans than any other known edible plant.

Lignans deter and arrest the growth of cancer in a multitude of ways.  First, they act as a weak estrogen and block strong cancer-promoting estrogens from attaching to the estrogen receptors in the breast.  Second, lignans change the structure of the breast making it more resistant to toxins that induce cancer.  Third, if you have breast cancer, lignans can stop the tumor cells from growing and help to prevent the metastasis of your tumor.  They do this by decreasing two growth factors that fuel the fires of breast cancer; insulin-like growth factor (IGJ-1) and something called “epidermal growth factor.”  IGF-1 is though to be one of the most dangerous and potent risk factors for breast and prostate cancer.

Check out Missouri

November is "deer hunting" season.  When scouting out a place to hunt, check in MissouriMissouri is currently over populated by deer.  There are plenty of trees to set up deer stands.

My preference is to put a tree stand next to a secluded street.  Any street that has a field or trees next to it would work.  However, be sure to go just far enough away that you are not in restricted space.

To find other locations, check out the website for Huntin' Pro.  You may be able to find a spot closer to you to make it more feasible.

If you do not like to hunt for deer, go to Huntin' Pro and learn more about where to go for other animals.

Grace & Gratitude

At age 44, Olivia Newton-John was diagnosed with breast cancer.  Coincidentally, she was diagnosed on the same day her father died of lung cancer.  While grieving for her father, making decisions about her own health proved to be a difficult task.  With a six year old daughter, Chloe, Olivia was forced to change her way of thinking about the treatment she would receive.  She did not want Chemotherapy.  Thankfully, she had good friends, Jim and Nancy, who were able to provide emotional support and guidance.  Olivia compromised by having Chemotherapy, but also did every thing she could to support her immune system and to strengthen her body including nutritional therapy, acupuncture, aromatherapy, herbal medicine, meditation, and yoga.

Olivia Grace and Gratitude, A Healing and Therapeutic CD was written by Olivia Newton-John to not only help others, but to help herself.  Through all the trials and tribulations of having cancer while being a single mom, Grace and Gratitude became a way of life for Olivia.  Not only does she have her own non-profit organization, Liv, she also supports the Great Walk to Beijing.

The Great Walk to Beijing is a 23 day, 142 mile journey through both barren terrain as well as jagged, rugged and steep mountains.  There is a threat to desert dust storms, fatigue, and blisters.  They did not have pleasures and comforts of hot showers or running water.  This journey is symbolic of what cancer patients experience, meeting challenges on unchartered rough terrain, yet continuing to move forward.

Hectic Lifestyle?

In today’s fast-paced, hectic and demanding world, it’s challenging enough to balance work, home and family, but add a major health problem to the mix and your life can spin out of control.

This is the case among many women, since females tend to be caregivers—taking on the world, fixing everyone’s problems, juggling dozens of errands and projects at once, and wanting to be in control and on top of things at all times.  It’s even truer for younger women, who are more likely to be enmeshed in raising a family, working full time and managing a busy household with lots of moving parts.

But a breast cancer diagnosis can easily throw the daily routine out of whack.  Life’s demands still have their pull, but now there are doctor’s appointments to meet, life-altering decisions to make, and very often side-effects from treatment to manage.  As a result, breast cancer patients soon discover their regular way of operating needs adjusting so they can focus on their health.

Fortunately, there are vast resources and services readily available through nonprofit organizations and hospitals.  It’s just a matter of knowing where to turn.

Before turning to these organizations for help, it is recommended that you make a list of things you need to do to keep up with your lifestyle before and after diagnosis.  This list is to help organize who will haul your children around, prepare meals, clean house, and run errands. These items are very practical issues related to managing this illness.
Then, when your appointments are scheduled, take a look at the list to see what you may need help with.  If you need help with the list, contact a co-survivor for help.  You need to have your list handy when contacting an organization to request help.

Breast Cancer Prevention

There are different schools of thought when it comes to causes, treatments and the prevention of breast cancer in males and females. This information will take the high road and focus on the simplest and most natural things everyone should know and can do for themselves. The Mayo Clinic states that exercise, limiting alcohol and eating right all assist in cancer prevention. Other specialists include genetics as a factor and still others add obesity, stress, hormone therapy, long-term exposure to pesticides, unnecessary use of antibiotics and high fat consumption as considerations. However, there is yet another theoretical path that has a large bibliography backing its claims.

Our blood requires an alkaline environment for life, and when that balance is tipped in favor of an acidic environment, sickness in all its forms is always the result, which includes cancer in all its forms. The pH scale goes from 0 to 14 with anything below 7 being acidic and anything above 7 being alkaline. Anyone can buy pH strips either online or at a pharmacy. Dipping a small strip in urine first thing in the morning or in the mouth to measure the pH of saliva is the easiest way to determine where on the pH scale the body fluids are. When the pH is above 7.4, cancer cells become dormant. If the body is really alkaline at 8.5, the cancer cells die, but healthy cells keep living. Whole preferably organic foods, low stress, alkaline water, healthy relationships, a sustained exercise program, and a spiritual life all contribute to alkaline blood.

A vegetarian diet is highly respected for the simple reason of its high content of alkaline minerals such as rubidium, potassium, calcium, sodium chlorite ion, magnesium, and cesium. These can be obtained by drinking fresh fruit and vegetable juices within minutes of juicing them. Meat is highly acidic as is sugar and all refined foods. For the prevention of cancer and most other diseases, it is best to run, not walk from the last two.
